Fulvestrant is an estrogen receptor antagonist that binds to the estrogen receptor competitively with an affinity comparable to that of estradiol and downregulates the ER protein in human breast cancer cells. It is supplied as a white powder. Fulvestrant is supplied in single-dose vials in 250mg/5ml to administer intramuscularly.
