Tablets of Linezolid are a kind of oxazolidinone antibiotic, prescribed for treating certain kinds of bacterial infections such as pneumonia, certain blood infections, complicated skin and soft tissue infections. The linezolid tablets work by interfering with the synthesis of proteins and halts the progression of bacteria. This medication is effective only against gram positive bacteria. Use of Linezolid should be restricted to serious and multi-resistant infections and it should not be prescribed indiscriminately to prevent the establishment of resistance. While on linezolid treatment, try to avoid consuming mature cheese, yeast extracts or soya bean containing products such as soy sauce. These foods may be responsible for interacting with linezolid and may be responsible for causing unpleasant signs and symptoms.
