Sutent is a medication that contains the active substance sunitinib. It is available as capsules (12.5 mg, 25 mg, 37.5 mg and 50 mg). It is used to treat adults with metastatic RCC, GIST, and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours. The sutent 50 mg is the standard dose for GIST and metastatic renal cell carcinoma. The dose of Sutent can be adjusted as per the patient’s response to the therapy, but should be kept within the range of 25 mg to 75 mg. In order to treat pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours, this medicine is administered at a dose of 37.5 mg once daily without a rest period. This dose can also be adjusted. Therapy with Sutent capsules should be initiated by health specialists who have experience in using cancer medications. Use of Sutent in children and adolescents aged under 18 years is restricted. Avoid consuming alcohol as it may increase the probability of side-effects.
